Bangalore pop singer Vandita Narayan.

Following the release of her funky single “Drunk on Passion” earlier this year, Bengaluru pop singer Vandita Narayan released a future new bass track called “Walking Piece of Art” last month.

Written during the second lockdown, Narayan explains that his latest offering is an abstract form of emotion expression of passions, intimacy and vulnerability. She says, “In this song, I present myself as a canvas while building an intricate character that shines on me and casts its colors and glitter on me, creating a beautiful mess and a work of art.” The singer worked with producer BA55ICK who gave the song its alt-pop and future bass touch.

For the music video for the track, shot and edited by Shoiab Ahmed, Narayan worked with art director Akshay R. who helped her conceptualize the clip. In the film, Narayan is seen performing the song while being splashed with color, glitter and smoke bombs as it transforms into a canvas for stunning imagery. She says, “The idea of glitter and smoke bombs represents different versions of art, because life imitates art.” The singer adds, “It was hard to splash on the beat. While putting the parts of the video back together, the work allowed me to be the best version of myself possible. I understood the beauty. to be vulnerable.Cleaning up after the shoot was just as fun!

Looking ahead, Narayan wants to continue creating his “art world full of color and emotion” while connecting with people through his music.
