A NEW SPEECH IN FURNITURE DESIGN
An industrial designer by training, aduatz is inspired by science and harnesses the unique qualities of innovative materials to trigger a new form of dialogue between object and user / viewer. you can know more about designer process here.
for ‘gravel chair’, aduatz adopted a simple but impressive production technique. he first hand fashioned a model out of styrofoam, then encapsulated it with resin and fiberglass before covering the entire surface with a stone carpet. the final surface texture mimics the consistency of gravel found in any exterior surface – hence the name choice for this piece of furniture.

although appearing quite heavy in bulk, the âgravel chairâ is surprisingly light thanks to the careful selection of materials and the adoption of a zero-waste process.
