Democrats call for ousting Trump’s hard-line supporters after rolling a piece of stone

Several members of the Democratic House seized the news Rolling stone magazine article on the Capitol uprising to call for the expulsion of pro-Trump hard-line supporters in Congress allegedly involved in planning the January 6 rallies leading up to the deadly attack.

“Any member of Congress who helped plan a terrorist attack on our nation’s Capitol must be kicked out,” said Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) declared via Twitter Sunday evening.

“Those responsible remain a danger to our democracy, our country and human life near our Capitol and beyond,” she tweeted.

New York Democratic member Ritchie Torres (D-NY) slammed the “cabal” of GOP lawmakers identified in the Rolling Stone article which “not only incited but also aided and abetted the insurgency”.

“There is no room for insurgents in the US Congress,” Torres tweeted. “Expel all accomplices. “

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) and David Cicillin (D-RI) echoed similar requests for deletion.

“Any member who learned of or helped plan the Jan.6 attack on Capitol Hill should be immediately expelled from Congress,” Cicillin said. tweeted. “We cannot trust them for the future of our democracy and our country.”

The calls came after two anonymous organizers of the Jan.6 pro-Trump rallies told the Rolling Stone that they had had “dozens” of meetings with several members of Congress or their employees to plan the events.

These lawmakers were Reps Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Mo Brooks (R-AL), Madison Cawthorn (R-NC), Andy Biggs (R -AZ) and Louie Gohmert (R-TX), organizers said.

Gosar reportedly even went so far as to claim that there would be a “general pardon” from the White House for the organizers, who also said they spoke to the House select committee on January 6.
